God Give Us Men!!!…..Part 4

Its quite surprising the depth of apathy and insensitivity our society has gone into. Sympathy has gone through the window for us and its been replaced by callous demeanor that betrays the very core of human sensibilities.

Scenes of tragedy, helplessness and hopelessness is regularly glossed over in our society and its now the norm to hear, see and feel it.

It bothers me how things degenerated to this level and wonder what caused the spiral in morals and brotherliness. A brother in help on the expressway in the middle of nowhere is on his own at the mercies of the Gentlemen of the Highway…..

An accident scene turns to a video shooting scene instead of a life saving scene. A bomb blast scene turns into a scene of further nightmare and gore simply because we have failed to understand the concept of Help and Emergency.

We so much take things for granted and abuse a whole lot of process. Everybody wants to have their say and do at the same time without recourse to the other person. Everyone is in a rush to go home, hence taking one way and facing traffic is perfectly acceptable to the detriment and risk of the lives of others.

Its a dog eat dog world where “My personal Agenda” is always on the front burner and not that of others.

God Give Us Men!!!!!!

Never Stop Dreaming…..Conclusion

  1. First Failure is not the last failure: They were called losers simply because they seem not to fit into the mould. They just seem to be staring at failure all around, but they still kept at it, pushing towards their dreams.
  2. Take Ridicule in stride: They were ridiculed by friends for not achieving their dreams. The football Pro wannabe was hit the most because he was totally off his own dream. His friend was still in a gaming software company so moreorless on track though very far from the mark. They try to suck it in and maintain a clear head and did a candid reappraisal of their situation.
  3. Have Fun, Joke about it: They had mad fun. They played practical jokes of been real cops along the way by pure accident. Went to a mask party in a costume thinking it was a costume party. And along the way of playing cops, took a big revenge against some gangsters that crushed their car. And also got into places they would not have dreamed of getting into. And they partied as “cops”!
  4. Don’t overplay: Yes, you read right, they overplayed up to the point of almost getting killed “in the line of duty” as cops.  Always remember where you are coming from and where you are going to. Yes, take time off to break off the pressure of pursuing your dreams, but don’t always let down your guard to the point of complacency.
  5. Dreams are not cast in Stone: If you need to have another dream, dream it. One of the friends discovered his passion for Police investigation, and made a volte face on his dreams of football Pro and switched to Policing where he graduated with honours in his class and with high recommendation.
  6. Be Bold with your dreams: The software gamer had been the butt of office jokes for his “poor ideas” and in particular for the game he had been trying to push until fortune smiled on him and there was a practical demonstration of his dreams. Firstly, he took the bull by the horns by confronting his team leader who had always hit on him and he began to present his dreams with a passion never seen before and one after the other they agreed and voted for his own game against the game they had been trying too hard to push into implementation.
  7. Your dream is not about you but about others: For these two friends, their dreams was about service to others and not about they themselves. The Police officer, the Game Builder, both was a passion dedicated to help other people. What is the thrust of your dream? Is it about you or about service to others.

Do have a fantastic Day!!!

Never Stop Dreaming

Several times we have dreams locked in our hearts, that we rarely let out. Dreams penned down and locked up in folders, lockers whatever it is. Most times, the dreams see the light of the day…other times..they seldom see beyond the crack of dawn.

I watched a movie couple of days ago titled “Let’s be cops”” and it was really an hilarious movie. I learnt quite some lessons in the movie which i would like to share below;

  1. Always Dream big dreams; The two friends always dreamed of been really extremely wealthy. One dream of been a huge game software giant. While the other, dreamed of going Pro in football.
  2. Don’t be afraid to change location; The two friends left there home and family and relocated to another town in pursuit of thier dreams. And relocating does not come cheap. It means leaving your family, leaving familiar territory for an unfamiliar one. Leaving your comfort zone to a zone of anguish and log suffering. And the truth is, it pays out in the end..will come to that later.
  3. Don’t be afraid to test Waters: One of them got  a job in a gaming software company where he became the underdog, learning the ropes and contributing to he company. The other tried to be a football coach to young adults, and also tried to maintain his home……To Be Continued.

Just 70…..

For just 70 people, I was born.

For just 70 people, I was beloved of my Father.

For just 70 people, I told on my Brothers every move to my Father.

For just 70 people, I earned the wrath of my Brothers and Family.

For just 70 People, my own blood sold me as a slave.

For just 70 people, I was accused of attempted rape.

For just 70 people, I was imprisoned.

Lessons Learnt……Thankful

Today, is one of those days you sit back and take stock of your life. You do an assessment of how far you have come and how far you have gone. It’s a day of reflection and projection for the future. In case you are wondering, i was a year older today, and felt the love, bond and camaraderie of friends, family and loved ones. Interestingly, two years ago, i got two cakes on my birthday:), one from the Office as usual and one from a “dear” friend i was asking out then. This year, i got two cakes again! One from the office as usual (we love cakes in my office) and the second from a “very dear” friend (Whattyah thinking)….lolol ;). To continue reading visit; www.samaderibigbe.com

Taking Responsibility

How often do we take responsibility for our actions. We live in a society and culture where the buck is passed and the blame traded off to someone else. Our failures, shortfalls and inabilities are as a result of someone or something somewhere responsible for it. Our success is ours, our failures is not ours, but theirs.

This is the bane of our nation as well. Because as individuals, we have failed to take responsibility for our actions and inaction. We are quick to blame the so called Political Leaders over the inept Leadership, corruption, and every evil befalling our nation. But have we taken responsibility over our immediate environment ……..Taking Responsibility

We Are Groot!

Yesterday was my Boss’s birthday…he’s not only my Boss, but Coach, Pastor, Friend and a man of different facets. Once more, happy birthday to you CM-Sir!!!

In all the years i had known him and worked alongside him, i have never seen anyone with a large-heart like him nor as compassionate like him. I have seen him in different situations and his response has always baffled me and left me thinking.

In all the years i had known him and worked alongside him, i have never seen anyone with a large-heart like him nor as compassionate like him. I have seen him in different situations and his response has always baffled me and left me thinking.

Now this post is not about him per se, though it has to do with his birthday celebration yesterday. We went to watch a movie with everyone in the office, the movie title, Guardians of the Galaxy. Quite an interesting movie, with laughs, suspense, high-points and low-points with the different characters in the movie.
