What Do You See

Our journey in life depends oftentimes on what we see ahead and our expectations at the end of the journey. Imagine you are traveling to Dubai, you are filled with mental images of Dubai, Abu Dhabi and all the exotic locations in that wonderful city, that anything that suggests otherwise is rebuked and cast into the abyss. There is so much anticipation and preparation for that journey and a sense of fulfillment when you finally arrive there. So it is, on your journey to financial freedom.

What you see will have to be deliberate, not just a wish list. It requires consciously planning towards it and working towards it as well. “A good financial plan is a road map that shows us exactly how the choices we make today will affect our future”… Alexa Von Tobel. At the start of this year, we have set goals, we have drawn our vision boards and we have made our resolutions. But what is most crucial is the big picture of what we seek and desire, and the small steps that would lead us to it.  In the words of Richard Branson, “However tight things are, you still need to have the big picture at the forefront of your mind”. That is what drives you and fuels your passion in your business and personal life and guides every ‘calculated’ decision you take. In the words of Andy Andrew, “Your big picture will never be a masterpiece if you ignore the tiny brushstrokes…”

What you see, is also your ‘why’. What is your ‘why’? In the words of Robert Kiyosaki, “More important than how we achieve financial freedom, is the why. Find your reasons why you want to be free and wealthy”. And when you can readily identify your why, it defines what you see and clarifies how to get there.

So take your time to know your why, and refine what you see ahead.

May the road rise up to meet you.

May the wind be always at your back.

May the sun shine warm upon your face…
