The state of the Nigerian Nation is not a state that was inflicted on us by outsiders, rather it’s a self-inflicted condition occasioned by lack of personal responsibility and accountability to people. Continue reading

Who Moved My Cheese…..The Nigerian Leadership Crisis
Am sure we are quite familiar with the story by Spencer Johnson about four allegorical characters, Sniff, Scurry, Hem and Haw and there sojourn in search of Cheese.
While i won’t bore you with the full story line, i would do a summary of it and how it relates to the bane of leadership in Nigeria currently.
We will not ALL Agree!

Some have opinions and some have none, yet those without opinions criticize those who have.
Everybody cannot be on one side, because we are not the same. We don’t share the same values, believe in the same things or expect the same outcomes. Even our perception of reality differs, you see the cup as half empty and I see it as half full, and our perceptions will lace our conversations with emotions. So if you insult me for sharing what I see and believe, I take it in good faith. There will always be people with large hearts and those Continue reading
GRAMMA NO BE MY LANGUAGE!
A friend brought her 1 yr old daughter along to the office. Quite a lovely bright girl that i love dearly. And something interesting happened during course of the day. I think the little girl said something in her mother tongue, and the mum responded, ” You speak in English and not in Yoruba!”
WHEN IMPUNITY REIGNS SUPREME
The current discourse going on in the country will make your stomach curl. The scandals, the allegations, the arrogance and the sheer impunity with which our Federal Lawmakers rub in their omnipotence brings nothing but sheer raw anger, bitterness and helplessness to everyone by and large.
Interestingly, while we may think its just up there, that sheer impunity has spread to all cadres of the society without fear nor favor.
HOPE 93, STILL HOPEFUL?
Many people will wonder at this title, and for many more, it will strike a cord somewhere in the recess of their minds.
Hope 93, was the campaign jingle of the defunct SDP presidential campaign that fronted the late Bashorun MKO Abiola, who is regarded as the catalyst for the current democratic dispensation we now enjoy.
Demagogue of Evil
Its quite interesting the cultural bias and the chauvinistic way our so called law makers shot down the Gender Equality bill introduced on the floor of the house.
While I don’t have the full details of the bill, I feel the argument to reject the bill should be more intelligent than belligerent, emotional and tactless argument based on culture and tradition.
The Era of Trust and Integrity
Finally, 2016 has commenced officially world over. And we all have our goals set for the year, and our aspirations for the country and our personal lives. Nonetheless, i would like to start by referring to the events in the country in the last couple of weeks that has left much of a bitter taste in the mouth. And whether we like it or not, we need to evaluate the past to learn and make amends for the future.
Our Children are Dying!
I have watched with abject dismay, the state of cultural and moral degradation that now permeates our society and imbibed in our children.
More often than not, we have allowed this quite unconsciously, and a times with deliberate intention to give our children the best out of life, allowed a slip, a never ending slip that we may or may not recover from.
THE IMMUNITY CLAUSE UNDER THE NIGERIAN 1999 CONSTITUTION: A CURSE OR BLESSING – Conclusion
Continued from Yesterday.
Again, experience has shown in Nigeria that it is not only protected officers that are corrupt. There have been cases of graft against local government chairmen who are not protected by Section 308, Directors of parastatals, ministers and so on. If these people who are not protected are corrupt as the protected ones, then the problem lies somewhere else and probably not with the immunity clause. Continue reading
