Growing up in the city of Ibadan, left me with some interesting childhood memories that make me smile always when I remember them. And every year till I finished secondary school, Christmas was always relishing as we traveled down to Ijebu Ode to spend the holidays along with my brothers and sisters.
1. Crucifixion was invented by the Persians in 300 BC, and perfected by the Romans in 100 BC.
2. It is the most painful death ever invented by man and is where we get our term “excruciating.”
3. It was reserved primarily for the most vicious of male criminals.
4. Jesus refused the anesthetic wine which was offered to Him by the Roman soldiers because of His promise in Matthew 26: 29, “But I say to you, I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it new with you in My Father’s kingdom.”
Sometime last week, i took a rare day off work and went visiting a close a close family member. He was on his way for a prayer meeting and he invited me along.
We got there, the meeting was almost over so he ran in to join the prayer….and when i got there my spirit did not settle in for the meeting so i stepped outside to wait out the meeting. Then it came to me….there are several churches, mosques, religious organisations and several religious programs all over the place and still no end to the seemingly mirage of problems they all seek in these places.
